Laura qualified as a podiatrist 14 years ago with an interest in diabetes related foot complications. She completed an MSc in clinical practice for health professionals in 2001. From 2000 to 2009 she worked in NHS Wirral as a Senior 2 Podiatrist and from 2002 to 2009 she held the post of Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist at Wirral University Teaching Hospital.

Working with a consultant led team Laura conducted a number of audits related to improving patient care primary care. One audit was presented at Diabetes UK conference 2010 and shortlisted for the Primary Care Diabetes Award. During this time she presented over 9 poster presentations on clinical practice at national & international conference. Laura remains working in the NHS on a part time basis now in a non – clinical role enjoying the challenges of being part of a highly motivated team working to deliver health care across Wirral.

Michael McColgan qualified as a podiatrist in 1992 after completing his degree he joined NHS Wirral. Michael went on to complete part A & B exams in the Fellowship of Podiatric Surgery, throughout which time he was fortunate to gain experience working in podiatric surgery units across the country including London, Solihull and Chester.

In 2002 Michael was appointed Biomechanics Specialist Podiatrist. In 2003 he undertook a master’s programme and completed a postgraduate diploma in clinical biomechanics. In June 2004 he successfully completed the Certificate in Podiatric Acupuncture at Salford University. Michael also holds the IRMER certificate (Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations).

David Foster qualified as a podiatrist in 2004 and had completed a BSc (Hons) in biology. David started his career in the NHS working as a Senior Podiatrist, and completed an MSc module in clinical biomechanics for health professionals in 2009.

Gary Wain qualified as a podiatrist in 2006 and initially gained experience working in the Liverpool NHS trust. He then joined the team in 2008 and completed an MSc module in clinical biomechanics for health professionals in 2009.

Annette had worked within the NHS as a podiatry assistant for over 15 years. Her NHS role involved undertaking nail care in podiatry assistant clinics, home visits and undertaking the arranging of appointments and clinics across the NHS Wirral area. Annette then went on to train and qualify as podiatrist and joined the team in 2009.
